FORMER Cheltenham Town and Shortwood United striker Jake Lee has joined ambitious Southern League Premier Division newcomers Yate Town.
Lee,27, joins Yate from Weston-super-Mare following the Seagulls relegation from the National League South.
Originally signed by Weston boss Scott Bartlett from Shortwood United in January 2017, Lee went onto to become a mainstay at the Seagulls, where he also played as a centre-back.
Lee will be reunited with his former Shortwood team-mates Nick Peare, Ross Langworthy, Adam Price, Olly Mehew and Nick Humphrey’s who played their part in Yate’s promotion to the Southern Premier last season.
Lee started his career at Cheltenham Town, making his debut against Yeovil Town at the age of 17 under Martin Allen in 2009. The Cirencester-based striker had spells on loan at Cirencester Town and Thurrock before spells at Bishop’s Cleeve and Shortwood under Alex Sykes.
