Slimbridge 3
Bristol Rovers U23s 1
WILL HAWES bagged a brace and a sumptuous strike from Joe Wilton gave Slimbridge a comfortable victory against Bristol Rovers U23s, writes Rob Peck.
In a quiet first-half, where both teams played a cagey defensive game, came alive just after the break
Hawes chipping the visiting keeper Alexis Andre after some great work from Myron Turner.
Alex Battle equalised, tapping in at the far post for the visitors, the Swans however scored only a few moments later. New signing Sol Wanjau-Smith found space down the left and his shot came back of the near post into the path of Hawes, who made no mistake from 15 yards out.
The returning Wilton made a fine solo run into the box and his shot skidded through the defence.
