Thornbury Town will wear their new away kit for this Saturday's Emirates FA Cup game against Leighton Town.

Marking 10 years since the merger with youth club, Thornbury Falcons, the kit features the Falcons colours of blue and yellow.

In 2009, the Chairmen of their respective clubs, Adi Hawkins and Toni Watola, hoped that the merger would strengthen the success of football in Thornbury by having football under one umbrella from Under 6s up to the Adult sides.

Thornbury Town committee member Richard Shorey, one of the founding members of Thornbury Falcons in 1990, believes their hope has been achieved.

He said: "Since the merger, we have seen an increase in players from our youth sides representing Thornbury in our adult teams and some of them playing a crucial role in our promotion to the Hellenic League. We also have our two reserve teams managed by coaches who played through the ranks at Thornbury Falcons."

The club are still looking for sponsor for this commemorative kit. Interested businesses should contact vice-chairman Graham Smith on glsmith3@virginmedia.com.

Limited spaces are also still available for coach travel to Leighton Buzzard for Thornbury Town's first ever FA Cup game on Saturday. Spaces cost £10 each and should contact the club on social media to reserve a spot.
