Thornbury Rugby Club take on Chiswick at home this Saturday in their final run-out before the league gets underway at Bridgwater next weekend.

The match against the London club kicks off at 3pm, with Thorns looking to continue their fine pre-season form.

Thornbury built on two away wins at Chippenham and Old Halesonians with a fierce 'live' training session at Hartpury College last week, where players were able to practice scrums, lineouts and drills in a competitive game environment, against good quality opposition.

The two hour session ended with a ten minute 15-a-side match between the sides in which Thornbury full-back Alfie Richardson was the only scorer.

Visitors to Thornbury's match on Saturday can enjoy food and drink from the kitchen and the bar before the game and there will be a barbecue afterwards.

Admission will be free and everyone is welcome to enjoy a good afternoon of rugby and socialising afterwards.

Thornbury's first league match is away at Bridgwater on Saturday, September 7, with their first home fixture of the campaign at home to Lydney a week later.
