Ash Loveridge scores his Forest Green player ratings vs Newport as Rovers lose 0-2 in League Two.

Jo Wollacott - four A bad day at the office for the Bristol City loanee. Scratchy pass from the get-go put Carl Winchester under pressure inside sixty-seconds and a minute later he had his pocket picked for to roll into an unguarded net. Sent off on 28 minutes for clipping Abrahams outside the box, but replays suggest he got the ball first.

Dom Bernard - six An engaging young man off the pitch and a good player on it. Stuck to his task on a chastening day for Rovers.

Nathan McGinley – five Sacrificed after Wollacott’s early red card.

Farrend Rawson - seven Always dependable and in the right place to get several vital blocks.

Matt Mills - six His leadership qualities were vital, and he put his body on the line. Forced off on 89 minutes with what appeared to be a hamstring injury

Joseph Mills – six Deployed as a traditional left-back in a back-four, but played an advanced role when Rovers switched to a three. Almost snatched a point when his teasing free-kick kissed the post in the second-half.

Carl Winchester - six Got through his usual prodigious amount of work in the midfield engine

Ebou Adams - five Powder-puff back-pass presented Newport with their opener and this appeared to knock his confidence. Plenty of endeavour but little end product.

Dayle Grubb – seven Starting to nail down a starting place. Easily Rovers’ standout player. Eager to get on the front-foot and drive forward.

Kyle Taylor – six Straight into the team after training with Rovers for the first time the day before. The Bournemouth loanee was deployed in the number 10 role. Couple of nice touches after the break but was subbed with 11 minutes to go.

Taylor Allen - six Threatened a couple of times and was denied a decent chance by a last-ditch block in the first-half, but the teenager was devoid of service.

Substitutes

Lewis Thomas (on for McGinley 28 min) - five Confident start but will be annoyed he didn’t keep out Ryan Haynes’ 93rd-minute goal.

Junior Mondal (on for Taylor 59min) - five Certainly, has an eye for a goal and came on to inject some fresh legs but never really got into the game.

Aaron Collins (on for Allen 78 min) – six Tried to make an impact against his former club. Fashioned one opportunity but found the side-netting late on.
