QUEDGELEY Scott Redding halted Josh Brookes’ winning momentum by taking a maiden victory at Oulton Park in the penultimate race before the Bennetts British Superbike Showdown.

Redding moved into fourth during the opening lap.

Despite setting a fastest lap, Tommy Bridewell was unable to escape the chasing pack led by Redding who grabbed the lead on Lap 12 and produced some some stunning defensive riding to keep hold of his lead in the closing stages.

And the plaudits went to Redding for his maiden Oulton Park win and his first BSB triumph since doing the double at Snetterton back in July.

With Brookes and Bridewell finishing on the podium, Bradley Ray claimed fourth place.

Danny Buchan finished fifth ahead of Jason O’Halloran.

Christian Iddon kept his hopes alive by closing to eighth points behind Peter Hickman in the final top six spot as the Smiths Racing BMW rider finished directly behind the BMW rider in seventh and eighth.–
