Toolstation Western Premier League
Chipping Sodbury 2 Westbury United 2
HAVING suffered a string of poor results in August Chipping Sodbury went into this home league match determined to return to the form that led to a fine 2-1 away win over Cribbs in the first match of the season.
Their visitors by contrast had a promising start with two wins, a draw and a loss.
The visitors began to exert pressure going forward and nearly scored the opener only for a spectacular overhead kick from close range to be ruled out for offside on 34 minutes. Just three minutes later Westbury took the lead when Jordan Pinder struck a 20-yard shot in off the post after Sodbury had failed to clear their lines.
Just as the their heads were dropping the introduction of Tom Bidder sparked new life into the Sods and they began to create more chances.
With just 4 minutes left on the clock Sam Makepeace curled a right-footed shot into the top right corner of the Westbury goal to win a much deserved point for the home side.
Star Player – Sam Makepeace.
Sodbury welcome Cribbs on Saturday.
