FOREST GREEN boss Mark Cooper lauded his side’s “completely professional performance” as Rovers emphatically thrashed League Two newcomers Salford City.
Cooper beamed: “The players stuck to a framework, we wanted to get the ball down and play, because we’re are playing against a really strong, aggressive team and if we try to match them, we get beat. I thoroughly enjoyed it and our band of followers did and they were outstanding behind the goal for 90 minutes.
“It was a completely professional performance – and the players really enjoyed it.”
Cooper was pleased with the impact of midfielder Ebou Adams, who capped a dominant performance with his first league goal for Rovers.
He said: “We’ve done a lot of work with Ebou in the week in terms of getting him forward and he did well.”
And Cooper was especially pleased to see his side keep their fifth consecutive clean sheet.
He added: “Defensively we were sound. Kitching, Bernard and Mills had to defend balls into our box and I thought they were all outstanding today.”
