CIRENCESTER ended a run of three straight league defeats by grabbing a point at Moneyfields, writes David Pyzer.
Earlier, the home side came out of the blocks very quickly to press their visitors who held firm and gradually warmed to their task as they attacked down their flanks with John Dennis and Ollie Artwell the outlets.
Around the mid-point of the first half Stephen Hutchings long range shot brought a fine save from Lewis Clayton and a positive response from Cirencester as Jack Freeman produced a couple of moments of skill to create room for a Dennis shot, and to bring a solid save from Jake Hallett himself.
The half ended as it had begun with Moneyfields pressing and Cirencester defending.
Ten minutes after the interval Cirencester worked the ball forward resulting in a Freeman shot being deflected over the home cross-bar and this led to a series of corner kicks but no breakthrough.
During the final quarter Artwell made a couple of strong runs – the first resulting in a corner kick and a couple of blocks before Tommy Ouldridge fired wide of the left post and from the second he fired over the bar.
