BEACONSFIELD Town failed in their bid to complete a hat-trick of wins in the Southern League Premier South after a 2-1 defeat against Hartley Wintney on Tuesday, writes Rob Stevens.
A goal from Alex Albert gave the visitors to Holloways Park the lead inside a minute of the second half.
Hartley Wintney thought they had doubled their advantage when Dean Rule found the back of the net but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Beaconsfield equalised with a messy goal by Brendan Matthew from a corner kick in the 78th minute.
The away side secured all three points two minutes from the final whistle as the ball ran loose inside the box for Tom Bird to slot past the Rams keeper.
The defeat leaves Beaconsfield bottom of the league table and three points from safety ahead of a visit to Holloways Park from Welsh club Merthyr Town this Saturday (3pm).

Chesham United are now three matches without a win in the league following their 1-1 draw with Harrow Borough at The Meadow on Tuesday.
The Generals have not tasted a victory since beating Yate Town three weeks ago but remain in the play-offs spots in fourth position and four points behind leaders Tiverton Town.
The home team took the lead thanks to a penalty kick from Dave Pearce after substitute Romario Hart was hauled down inside the box in the second half.
Harrow rescued a point when Ant O'Connor scored in time added on.
Chesham United make the trip to Wimborne Town this Saturday (3pm).
