BEACONSFIELD 1 YATE TOWN 1

YATE TOWN were forced to settle for a point in an absorbing clash at struggling Beaconsfield.

Paul Britton’s side started on the front foot and nosed ahead on 12 minutes. Midfielder Joe Guest picked up a loose ball just inside the box to spank beyond keeper Myles Bowman.

At the other end, Adam Forster was forced to repel strikes from Jon-Jo Bates, before Charlie Losasso kissed the post for Beaconsfield.

In the dying embers of the first-half, Beaconsfield netted parity. Yate failed to clear a corner and James Taylor poked the ball over the line.

Beaconsfield started the second-half with intent, but the Bluebells defended doggedly – Forster denying Brendan Matthew with a finger-tip save and blocking with his legs from Losasso.

Yate almost snatched a late goal – Bowman denied Sam Kamara following smart play from Louis Britton and Bradley Webb.

Yate Town travel to National League South Braintree Town on Saturday in the FA Trophy third qualifying round.
