Old Cryptians 36 Dursley 0

AN under-strength Dursley were put under the cosh by Old Cryptians.

The first quarter of the game saw much of the play in Dursley's half, however some stout defending and willingness to take the game to the home side saw the scores level with no score.

The deadlock was broken on twenty-five minutes following a stolen Dursley lineout on the five-metre line, which saw the home side flop over the conversion made it 7-0. Dursley found themselves in the same position three minutes later, this time they secured the line out, but Boucher’s clearance was charged down with the ball going dead. The resulting scrum saw Crypts push over for a try which was converted for a half-time score of14-0.

A penalty three minutes into the second half made it 17-0, Dursley again took the game to the home side, turning down several three-point opportunities as they continued to kick to the corner. Crypts made sure of the win when some missed tackles in midfield saw them add seven more points. With ten minutes remaining and with Dursley on the attack a turn over and quick movement across the back line resulted in the bonus point try, there was just time for one more score in the corner for a final score of 36-0 which really didn’t reflect the never give up attitude the entire Dursley side displayed in this tough encounter.
