Dursley Town round-up

PLAYER-MANAGER Karl Nash led by example as Dursley kept up the pace at the top of Stroud League Division One with a 6-1 home win over Tredworth.

Boss Nash's treble was added to with strikes from brother Aaron, James Stevenson and Jack Bartman as Town remained four points clear.

Although there is still a long way to go, it is looking increasingly like the title race will come down to a head-to-head between Dursley and Ramblers.

* Dursley Reserves crashed out of the Dennis Mason Cup after a poor second-half display in a 4-1 defeat at higher-division Abbeymead Reserves.

Town had much the better of a goalless first period, but made defensive errors after the break. Will Gosling headed a consolation at three goals down.

* Dursley 3rds fared even worse at their Sharpness counterparts in the Bill Bick Cup, going down 5-0 in a derby clash at Oldminster Road.

* Dursley firsts are in county cup action at Taverners Reserves this Saturday, while the Reserves host their King's Stanley counterparts in Stroud Five. The 3rds have no game, but the Ladies return to County League action at Mitcheldean on Sunday.
