Stroud League Division One

Ramblers 0 Dursley Town 6

AARON Nash led the way with four goals as Dursley steamrollered over closest challengers Ramblers to move four points clear at the summit.

Player-manager Karl Nash plundered two goals for himself as this top-of-the-table clash became about as one-sided as could possibly be imagined.

Dursley took a 20th-minute lead when Karl Nash put brother Aaron clear and he coolly steered the ball beyond the onrushing goalkeeper.

Ten minutes later, the same player doubled the advantage with another composed finish after a poor throw-out from the Ramblers goalkeeper.

The visitors were four-up by half-time after Karl Nash diverted a free-kick in with a deft header, and Aaron Nash scored from Ben Prictor's long ball.

Aaron Nash made it four for himself ten minutes into the second half, before Karl Nash completed the scoring in the final minute.

But while the Nash brothers netted, the overall display was outstanding, with Joel Blackie, Ryan Stevenson and Aaron Booth owning the midfield.

And such was the defensive control, that 39-year-old goalkeeper Keith Watson, who by deputising for teenager Toby McCormick put the average age of the side up by two years per man, did not have a shot to save during the entire 90 minutes.

Dursley: K Watson; J Stevenson, B Prictor, P Holder, J Bartman; J Blackie, R Stevenson, A Booth; Aaron Nash, K Nash, C Mills.

Rolling substitutes: A Hobbs, C Lindsay, Antony Nash.

Goals: Aaron Nash (20, 30, 45 & 55), K Nash (40 & 90).

* Dursley Reserves maintained their own promotion push in Division Five of the Stroud League with a 4-0 home victory over Tuffley Rovers 5ths.

* None of the men's teams have a fixture scheduled this weekend, but the Ladies are away to Cheltenham Civil Service on Sunday afternoon.
