CAPTAIN Jamie Rendell captured his 350th league wicket as Chipping Sodbury completed a comfortable eight-wicket win away to Cam.

The spinner finished with 2-28 as the home side were dismissed for 108 with Dan Brown (3-8), left-armer Richard Wood (3-19) and Josh Morris (2-25) combining to deadly effect.

In reply, opener Jake Reed continued his recent fine form with an unbeaten 54 while a stand of 88 with Lee Walters (44) ensured there were few problems as Sodbury wrapped up their fourth win of the summer to remain fifth in Division One of the Gloucestershire County League.

Sodbury 2nds, meanwhile, went down by 58 runs at home to Corse & Staunton.

Jake Havard captured 3-51 and Alan Mealing took 2-33 from eight as Corse reached 257-6 ahead of captain Bryan Jater (53) leading Sodbury’s reply.

Sodbury 3rds went down by 53 runs at home to Dyrham & Hinton in Division Eight of the Bristol & District League.

Rob Cullingford’s 100 lifted the visitors to 224-2 before Sodbury were all out for 171 in reply, openers Ben Boardman (75) and captain Jake Kirkham (29) amongst the runs.

It was a better day for Sodbury 4ths who romped in by eight wickets away to Golden Hill in Division 14.

The home side were rushed out for 101 by Ravi Mistry (3-16), Jay Penfold (2-9) and Dan Morgan (2-25) before opener Dan Jenkins (33), Damien Frodsham (32 not) and Tim Gray (19) wrapped up the points.
