CONAL PLATT scored a dramatic late winner as Forest Green knocked Blue Square Premier rivals Mansfield Town out of the FA Cup last night.
It was Platt’s second of the night to earn Rovers a deserved win in the replay at Field Mill and set up a mouth watering second round clash at local rivals Bath City on November 28.
Forest Green took the lead on 40 minutes when curled a free kick into the top corner from 20 yards.
Mansfield equalised with 20 minutes remaining as Kyle Perry headed in Gary Silk’s cross but Forest Green broke away in the 90th minute and Sean Rigg’s cross was converted by Platt.
