EX-WORLD champion boxer Jane Couch is hoping to find a female boxer to follow in her footsteps as she intends to add managerial success to her records.

Couch became the first woman in this country to fight professionally and won five world titles.

She has also promoted 21 shows and has applied for a manager’s licence which would allow her to work with the likes of Western Area champion Danny Butler.

Couch said: “What would be really good is if a Bristol area boxer could be groomed to follow in Danny Butler’s footsteps.

“A female boxer being trained from novice to World champion, as I was, would be even more exciting.

Continuing her stay at Spaniorum Farm in Compton Greenfield, Couch is expecting to add to her initial signing of Liam Power from Torquay who recently won his first professional fight.

She said: “It is amazing how many enquiries I have had from novice and experienced boxers. Unfortunately some of them live too far away and I feel it is important that I see them regularly and get to know them.”
