DAVE HOCKADAY has swooped for prolific Chasetown striker Reece Styche in time for tonight’s Blue Square Premier trip to Hayes and Yeading (7.45pm).

The former Hednesford Town and Shepshed Dynamo forward has bagged 13 goals in 15 games for the Unibond South league leaders.

The Scholars' top goalscorer this season was allowed to train with the Rovers earlier in the season, and will join the Nailsworth club initially on loan until the end of February while Chasetown will retain his UniBond League registration.

His final appearance last Saturday for the Scholars at Witton Albion saw him bag the winning goal in their 2 - 1 victory.

Manager David Hockaday is thrilled at securing a player who he believes will make it to the very top.

Styche with be given the No9 shirt vacated by Andy Mangan.

Meanwhile, Mike Fowler has taken part in full training this week and is expected to be available within a fortnight.

The 27-year-old midfielder sustained a horrific triple ankle fracture, dislocation and ligament damage during a pre-season friendly against Exeter City.

Rovers hope to welcome back winger Conal Platt tonight after illness. David Wilkinson is set to replace goalkeeper Terry Burton. Curtis McDonald (knee) and Lee Ayres (groin) miss out again.
