THE WET weather washed out all but two of the Gloucestershire County League games on Saturday, although one did survive and it saw leaders Thornbury Town take a significant step towards the title with victory over second-placed Lebeq United.
The win means that Thornbury have now opened up a seven-point lead on Lebeq, with United having one game in hand.
Thornbury are also ten points clear on third placed Stonehouse Town with two thirds of the season already over.
Eighth-placed Frampton United’s game at AEK Boco, in fifth, and struggling Kingswood’s home clash with Ruardean Hill Rangers were both postponed.
