IN the final game of what has been a season of 'what if' for Thornbury A, they travelled to Vivo in search of victory and the 13 points needed to secure their Premier A status.

And, when it really mattered, they came up with the goods. Whilst injured captain Brad Jenkins watched on from the side Callum Davidson, Sam Davidson and Jeremy Harris all produced outstanding squash coming through hard matches to secure safety and grab the match and bonus points.

Craig Webb added to Vivo's dismay winning his match 3-2 and Ryan Wilson put the icing on the cake with a stylish 3-0, handing Thornbury A an emphatic 5-0 victory.

The final match score being 19-5 and seeing Thornbury finish in either second or third place in a congested league.

Despite a 5-18 loss against Westbury David Lloyd, Thornbury B came top of division one and are promoted to the Premier C division.

The only win of the four man squad was Alex Hall who secured a 3-2 win after an exhausting 75 minutes much to the delight of the players, spectators and marker! Rob Livingstone and Justin Edwards both lost 3-1 with Chris Hutchence going down 3-0.

A great season and well done to all the players who contributed to the teams success in achieving promotion.

Thornbury C's final match of the season versus Lansdown D was a victorious affair. Pete Bowen and Nick Clifton polished off their opponents in 3 games straight, whilst the rest of the team, Dale Curtis, Cliff Hall and Ian Johnson had gruelling five game matches but all were triumphant with a final match score of 19-6. This makes Thornbury a safe third out of six in the table, no promotion this season, the University teams were just too strong.

Thornbury D finished the season with another loss to high flyers Bath University. The D team will be glad of the Christmas break and a drop to division three where they find themselves more competitive.
