Teign 3 Yate Ladies 1
YATE Ladies travelled to the coastal town of Dawlish in good spirits and ready for battle against league newcomers Teign.
The opening phase and periods of play gave Yate every confidence that it would be a good day, however a goal against the general run of play put Yate somewhat on the back foot.
Quickly going 2-0 down to a breakaway goal left Yate facing a challenging period of play in which Teign took the upper hand with a dominant run and finish from their midfield taking the game in to half time at 3-0.
A moment to reflect and gain compare seemed to do the trick for Yate and service resumed after half time with Yate in the ascendancy.
Missed opportunities proved crucial however with the break through goal for Yate coming with just seven minutes left to play.
The game ended 3-1 to Teign leaving the girls rightfully disappointed at missing the opportunity to gather in some points.
The post match debrief was crucial in helping the ladies remember the many positives of the game and the girls can look forward with ambition for what is set to be a challenge against an in-form Cheltenham side next week.
