Thornbury has been rocked by a string of arson attacks in the last month but members of the community have come together to support those affected.

The latest display of generosity is a fundraising page set up to help the gardeners at Daggs allotments who recently had their sheds burned down.

Four sheds were targeted in three different attacks during December.

One belonged to John Barber who relied on the shed to store his tools as he is unable to carry them long distances.

Speaking at the time he said: "This is my hobby and they have destroyed it."

The fundraising page has been set up to help towards the cost of replacing the tools and sheds.

There is also a fundraising page for The Castle School. Both of the school sites have been targeted by arsonists and a burglary caused 'extensive damage' on December 31.

If you do not have money so spare you can help the school by other means.

A group of parents have began nightly patrols to protect the school from further arson attacks and tomorrow (Saturday, January 5), Castle School Friends are holding their first DIY day.

Further details on both of these are available on the Castle School Friends Facebook page.
