A woman from Yate, that shaved her head for charity four years ago, is taking on the challenge a second time after one of her family was diagnosed with cancer.

Jenny Thomas, 35, previously shaved her hair off in 2015, raising over £750 for Macmillan Cancer Support in the process.

Now though she is doing it again after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

"It was a fantastic experience but not one that I thought I would have again," Jenny said.

"It's been a very scary year and, keeping our fingers crossed, she is currently well.

"I wanted to do something big in her honour and an ad for 'brave the shave' popped up whilst I was on the internet.

"After chatting with Mum, I decided to go for it again."

In 2015 Jenny only expected to fundraise around £250, however she made over £500 more than that.

"I'm hoping to raise £500 this time and so far between the online page and offline, we're up to £345.

"I'm having my head shaved at my current hairdressers Hannah's Hair Salon in Brimsham park on Saturday 13th April."

Jenny will be undergoing her hair transformation on Saturday, April 13 at Hannah's Hair Studio in Brimsham.
